For over 50 years, Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) has been providing people from around the world with a rich academic and professional education. With 17,000 students from 100 different countries enrolled, CCCU has a passionate belief in the power of Higher Education to enrich and transform lives. Records for graduates in employment are some of the best in the UK, and the research community has an international reputation. In the latest National Student Survey, Canterbury Christ Church received its highest ever score for student satisfaction.

Canterbury Christ Church campus is situated in Canterbury and at various other sites. The Canterbury campus offers various facilities like Daphne Oram creative arts building, The Verena Holmes building, and a hi-tech sports lab. The Verena Holmes building offers science, technology, health, medicine, and engineering courses. It is a part of the university’s exciting £150m city campus investment. The Medway campus is a modern and professional environment for students studying health or education courses. The university also has a campus at Royal Turnbridge Wells. The Students’ Union at Canterbury Christ Church University organizes events throughout the academic year. There are more than 100 clubs and societies for students. The university Sports Centre is located right next to the Canterbury campus. At the Sports Centre, there is an interactive spin studio, a modern gym, a climbing wall, and a double sports hall.

REF 2021’s results show how Canterbury Christ Church University is delivering tangible changes and solving real problems via its world leading research that is relevant to the communities in Kent and Medway, as well as across the UK and around the world.

The assessment showed that more than 60% of the University’s research and almost 85% of its impact was judged to be in the top two categories of world-leading (4*) and internationally excellent (3*). The volume of work also increased, with 50% more staff submitting research for assessment than in 2014.

Canterbury’s accessibility (less than one hour from London!) and vast range of attractions make it an extremely popular destination for visitors from all around the world. This has resulted in the creation of a vibrant international community that offers plenty to do and see. Canterbury, home to the main campus, is famous throughout the world for its cathedral, its history and its beauty, and is one of the safest university cities in the country. The town of Broadstairs is the seaside creative centre, and students who study here can take inspiration from its beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. Finally, the Medway campus features award-winning buildings, brand new purpose-built facilities and is a 40 minute train ride away from London.
